قررت نيابة أمن الدولة العليا بالقاهرة، يوم الإثنين 6 يوليو، حبس الدكتور «أحمد صفوت»، طبيب بالعناية المركزة بمستشفى معهد ناصر، وعضو نقابة الأطباء،15 يومًا على ذمة التحقيقات، لمطالبته ، بحقوق الأطباء ورفضه اتهامهم بالتقاعس،كانت قوات أمن القاهرة قد اعتقلت صفوت يوم 27/6/2020 واخفته قسرياً، بعد محاصرة نقابة الاطباء ، ومنع انعقاد مؤتمرها للرد علي اتهامات رئيس الوزراء للاطباء بالتقاعس عن مقاومة أنتشار الفيروس. On Monday, July 6, the Supreme State Security Prosecution in Cairo decided to detain Dr. Ahmed Safwat, a doctor with intensive care at Nasser Institute Hospital and a member of the Medical Syndicate, for 15 days pending investigations, for his claim to the rights of doctors and his refusal to accuse them of inaction. Cairo security forces had arrested Safwat, on 27/26/2020, and forcibly concealed it, after the Physicians Union was besieged, and its conference was convened to respond to the Prime Minister’s accusations of doctors of failing to resist the spread of the virus. 6 Temmuz Pazartesi günü, Kahire'deki Yüksek Devlet Güvenlik Savcılığı, Nasser Enstitüsü Hastanesi'nde yoğun bakımda bulunan bir doktor ve Tıbbi Sendika üyesi Dr. Ahmed Safwat'ı 15 gün boyunca soruşturmayı bekleyen soruşturmalardan dolayı tutuklamaya karar verdi. Safwat, 27/26/2020 tarihinde ve Hekimler Birliği kuşatıldıktan sonra zorla gizledi ve Konferansı, Başbakan'ın doktorların virüsün yayılmasına direnememe suçlamalarına yanıt vermek üzere toplandı.
