أعلنت وزارة الداخلية، في بيانها يوم 6/6/2019 ، أنه فى إطار ملاحقة العناصر الارهابية المتورطة فى مهاجمة أحد الأكمنة الأمنية فجر أمس الأربعاء، فقد أسفر تتبع مسار هروب العناصر المنفذة للحادث عن تحديد مجموعة من العناصر الإرهابية حال تواجدهم داخل أحد المنازل المهجورة بقطعة أرض فضاء فى حى المساعيد دائرة قسم شرطة ثالث العريش. وأضاف البيان أنه أثناء محاصرة قوات الأمن لتلك العناصر الإرهابية، قاموا بإطلاق النار بكثافة تجاة القوات، فتم التعامل معهم، مما أسفر عن مقتل 14 إرهابيا، وعثر بحوزتهم على 14 بندقية ألية و3 عبوات متفجرة و2 حزام ناسف. يذكر أن مطابقة التسجيل الصوتى للملازم أول عمر القاضي ( أحد ضحايا الكمين بطل 14 ) وبيان الداخلية ، والصور المنشورة للقتلى تؤكد كذب بيان الداخلية ، وقتل ابرياء وفق الرواية الثابتة عبر اعوام من قبل وزارة الداخلية .
